Want to join the choir?

If you show up, you are in the choir. No auditions or previous singing experience necessary. We always welcome new members so come along to our next advertised rehearsal. You can follow our events on this website, through instagram or facebook, or add your name to the Singers mailing list to be notified.

We understand that everyone has different and varying schedules. You are very welcome to be a part of our concerts even if you cannot make it every week. We provide lots of resources so you can keep learning the songs outside of choir rehearsals when working towards a concert.

Once everyone arrives, we run you through a warm up - think oos and ahhs and all the daggy things that make choir great. We then divide you into three parts, show you how to find the music, and teach you everything you need to know to sing the songs we are working on that day. No need to be perfect, just give it a shot and have some fun.

We often use sheet music, but if you can’t read music, just treat it like a lyrics sheet. Many of our singers don’t read music notation. Our choir leaders will lead everyone through it note for note.

No need to sign up, just show up and give it a go. If you keep coming back, you're part of the choir. Alice Sings never wants money to be a barrier to singing with us, however, financial contributions from those who can afford to are always very welcome. We use these funds to pay our wonderful collaborating musicians a proper wage for their time and energy and to cover costs of putting on big, fun concerts. If paying the cost of a beer, or yoga session is no trouble for you, we put this money towards supporting our hard working, highly talented local music scene. You can contribute to the choir here >

We have a team of volunteers that help us on a regular basis with things like printing, fundraising, organising, setting up and packing up. It all helps, and if you would like to volunteer, shoot us an email at alicesingscommunitychoir@gmail.com with the subject line “volunteer”
